Wide Reciever----Last Played for: Washington Redskins
Desean Jackson is one of the best recievers in the NFL. He is a great receiver who has stacked up 5 season with 1,000 yards or more, and also going to the Pro Bowl 3 times. The problem is, he has never hit the free agency market. He says that he, "wants to see how it goes", as free agency can be a lucrative place to get paid, go to a contender, or both. Sure he might be over 30, a terrible age in terms of the NFL, he has proven he can be a threat for opposing defences. Since he is on the wrong side of 30 however, he has to make a choice, win a ring and have a great legacy for young recivers to pursue, or go for the big bucks and be sure he won't file for banruptcy in 3-5 years. Most NFL players (%78) file for banruptcy in 2 years of retirement, and for that to happen for one of the greatest reiceivers, that wouldn't be good. What I would give as advice, if your good with money, go for the ring, if your not, get yourself a good financial adviser and go in to the top contract. Personally however, I believe he will go for the ring, or, there can be a third party that most people can't ignore. their heart. Jackson has said time and time again he wants to go and play in Philidelphia, where his career went off and the fans adore him. The Eagles will be willing to pay him more than a contender for sure, but not one trash team that needs someone to fill up seats. I beleive he will sign with the Eagles in Free agency, and hope to stay to retire there as well.
Cornerback-----Last Played for: Buffalo Bills
Sure, the Buffalo Bills have had yet another dissapointing season. Yes, the Bills are in the same division as the Patriots. Not very good to be a Bills fan is it, but, there are some bright spots on thir roster for the future of the team, so just keep waiting Bills fan. Tyrod Taylor is a great young quarterback that has the potential to become Micheal Vick in his prime. Stephon Gilmore is another great young conerback that can shut down the best recivers in the league. Hopefulyl they all dont leave though, Gilmore is a free agent this season, and he has many options to go to. If he doesn't want to be on a losing team, he can go to one of the really mediocre teams that only need one or two more pieces to become a contender. Many teams like this are looking for a young cornerback that can shut down the best. He can be a prime candiadte for the Bills franchise tag, offering the most money the Gilmore. If he wants to move however, he can go to many other places. If he wants to stay in New York, he can go the Giants, who need someone who can come in and make an impact. The Giants had one of the best defenses in the League, so him coming can improve the Giants even more on the defensive end, but, if he wants to be on a contender like the Giants, he needs to be willing to take a massive paycut, as the Giants need a better offense.
Quarterback-----Last played for: Washington Redskins
The Redskins have their work cut out for them, having to sign 2 franchise players, but, it looks like they don't want to get these players back. Why? Who knows. But, we do know one thing, Kirk Cousins is a franchise quarterback. Unfortunate for the Skins, both Cousins and and the Redskins want to pare ways. "I don't know," Cousins said. "I think you have to have an open mind but ultimately it's not in my hands in the sense that the team is going to make that decision and I'll react accordingly. I'd love to have a crystal ball that tells me what I'm going to do next year and 50 years after that, but that's not life. And that's not life in this league. I'll just take it a year at a time and trust in the Lord's plan." I believe Cousins would want to stay in Washington, but if the Skins dont want him, he will be accepted with open arms to any team he signs with.
Wide Reciever-----Last played for: Clevland Browns
Terrelle Pryor, didn't he play for like half the teams in the league as a backup quarterback, how is he on the top 5 list?!? Well, we know most people don't watch the Cleveland Browns, racking in only one, yes ONE, win in the 2016-2017 NFL season. But, there team isn't all trash. Although most of it is, the Browns have themselves a star, one in a very long time. Pryor made the switch from QB to Wide Receiver in the 2016 season, and proved to be an immediate vertical threat in the NFL, Catching 77 passes and obtaining over 1,000 yards. "I knew once somebody gave me a shot, it was going to be all she wrote," said Pryor. He added, "I believe God closes doors and moves things out of the way for a reason. He kept pushing me in this direction. It's the position I was meant to play." With well over $100 million in cap space, the Browns have the financial resources to give Pryor a lucrative long-term extension. If the Browns aren't willing, you can bet the rent that other teams are willing to play a 6'4", 220-pounder who flies up and down the field like Bo Jackson. The problem is though, he only had one good year, signing him to a large contract can have its risks. I believe that is the Skins can sign a quarterback that can start on a daily basis, Pryor will be happy to stay in Cleveland. If he wants to win however, he can sign a slightly smaller deal in terms of money, and can sign with a contender like the Giants, Falcons, or Cowboys. If he wants to win, he needs to understand that he had a breakout year, but we don't know if he can be consistent like in 2016 to continue his NFL Star tenure.
Safety-----Last Played For: Kansas City Cheifs
Eric Berry is a story. He already has a great career, having had a mountain of achievements, the highest being that he beat cancer in 2014-2015. Berry was one of the best safeties in the NFL. Talling 77 tackles and his career high 4 interceptions. The Problem is however, the Chiefs have the 3rd lowest cap space in the NFL. The are faced with a big decision, should they sign veteran Defensive end Dontari Poe? Or should they sign Eric Berry? With the 3rd lowest cap space in the NFL, the Chiefs will have quite a problem signing both Poe and Berry. They will have to decide on either Poe or Berry. The both want to stay in Kansas City, but only one can stay.
All the Other Great Free Agents
Now there are many other great free agents in 2017, many better that the athletes on this list, but, many of them will stay on their respectable teams. For example, Le'veon Bell, probably the top free agent in this year's free agency, will definitely stay on the Steelers. The Steelers made a great run, reaching the AFC Championship. Bell was a great running back who was a significant reason why the Steelers made their run. Another important free agent is Jason Pierre-Paul. One of the greatest defensive ends in the history of the Giants, JPP racked up only 7.0 sacks this season, but was out for most of the season when he lost 2.5 fingers in a firework accident! He was an important part of the Giants as he provided pressure on the quarterback almost every play. He was a great part of the best defensive team in the league, only giving up 17.8 points a game. There are many other great players in this year's free agency, including A.J. Bouye, Malcolm Butler, Calais Campbell, and many more, but, these player will most likely stay on their respectable teams, but, all sports free agency has shown, you never know what's gonna happen.
