Find My Past

Find My Past

Find My Past has a great range of material covering most countries of the world, with a particular focus on the records of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Records of women can be found among any of the resources indexed. Women can be particularly hard to trace so resources which point directly to women can be a boon. Calais Laceworker Immigrants to South Australia and South Australian Destitute Women are a couple of the indexes available via FindMyPast.

For Kids Aged 0-11 (year 6 in 2016)

Whether you live in the Shire or are just visiting, join the Summer Reading Club. Simply borrow and read books from the Sutherland Shire Libraries collection before 29 January for your chance to win. For every 5 books you read you get a reward and a ticket in the lucky prize draw.

How it Works

  1. Visit any Sutherland Shire Library to register and collect your Reading Log. Parents can join up and read to children who cannot read by themselves.
  2. Borrow and read books from any Sutherland Shire Library between Monday, 14 December and Friday, 29 January.
  3. Write down each book you read on your Reading Log. Show your reading log to library staff when you return your books.

For Ages 12-17 (year 7 upwards)

High school students who live or are holidaying in the Shire this summer are encouraged to participate in the teen reading club. For every book you read before 29 January you get a ticket in the lucky draw for a prize.

How it Works

  1. No Registration is required for the teen reading club.
  2. Read young adult or adult fiction novels, non-fiction, audio or e-books borrowed from any Sutherland Shire Library between Monday, 14 December and Friday, 29 January.
  3. For each book you've read fill out an entry form, available from the information desk at all Sutherland Shire Libraries.
