Bursaries and grants are non-repayable funds given to eligible students who demonstrate a need for financial assistance. They are non-repayable (read: free money), and are intended to assist you in financing your education.



UTSC students also have access to approximately $1.49 million in scholarships and awards, provided generously by the University and many donors. These awards are usually awarded based on academic performance.

Your Financial Aid Advisors can meet with you privately and can provide you with financial counseling, help with your OSAP loans, budgeting, or other matters related to your finances.


The Registrar's Office supports current undergraduate students with their registration, financial needs, scholarships & awards, as well as graduation, petitions, and TCards.


The Health & Wellness Centre has health care providers who provide medical, nursing, counselling, health promotion and education services to University of Toronto Scarborough students. U of T Housing Services is a member of the Greater Toronto Apartment Association (GTAA). Housing Services offers the information, resources and support you need to meet your housing goals.



The SCSU Tax Clinic, first operated in 2006, is a walk-in service held over two weeks available to all UTSC students. In collaboration with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), the Tax Clinic is a free service for UTSC students to complete their income tax and benefit returns.

The Transition Advisors at the International Student Centre are here to help! They can help you in adjusting to Canada, building your new community, building a plan, and more.



The Health & Wellness Centre has health care providers who provide medical, nursing, counselling, health promotion and education services to University of Toronto Scarborough students. You can access these services even if you’ve opted out of SCSU Health & Dental Insurance as long as you have other health coverage, such as OHIP or UHIP!!



Residence Life Staff (full-time and student-staff) are available to support students, including in crisis after-hours; they can provide personal support and are aware of resources to connect students to other support networks



The Immigration Advisors at the International Student Centre are here to help! They advise international students on a wide range of issues, ranging from immigration to employment.


Participate in one of the groups offered through Health & Wellness. Examples include Strengths-based Resilience, Coping with Loss, Self-Compassion, and Creating Social Connections. There’s also a specific group for Mandarin-speaking students



The Buddy Program provides support to first year international, inbound exchange, and newcomer students to Canada. By joining the Buddy Program, students can connect with an upper year student buddy and a staff buddy and get the inside scoop on how to be successful with both academic and student life.

Settling in the City is an off-campus excursion with an International Student Centre Transition Advisor and student staff to the local shopping mall, Scarborough Town Centre. You will also have the opportunity to visit the St. George campus and downtown area. You will explore the community around the UTSC campus, navigate and ride the TTC (bus and subway), purchase essential items such as a phone, laptop and grocery items), and set up a bank account.



Looking to try a new sport or activity? Don't know where to start your fitness?
The Athletics and Recreation Centre at UTSC is one of the hubs of activity on Campus and a gathering place for those pursuing a healthy active lifestyle. It strives to create a respectful and inclusive environment that promotes opportunity and overall well-being through physical activity.

Conversation Community is a peer-to-peer, non-academic service for students who wish to practice their conversational English while experiencing diverse cultural aspects of Toronto.



Communication Café is one of the most popular programs of the English Language Development Centre. Cafés are welcoming, dynamic workshops with games and interactive activities specially designed to help you improve your academic and oral communication skills.

Good Food Boxes are volunteer packed with fresh, high-quality, culturally appropriate vegetables and fruits. With the box menu changing weekly, each Good Food Box presents a convenient and affordable way to eat good healthy food.



TCard+ is a new way to pay using your existing official University of Toronto Identification Card (TCard). Your TCard will be accepted as a form of payment at food outlets, vending machines, laundry machines, printers, photocopiers and academic departments across UTSC as well as the UTSC Bookstore.

Attend one of the many Study Skills workshops offered by the Academic Advising & Career Centre. Some of their many workshop topics include: Time Management and Procrastination, Learning how YOU study, Memory and Concentration, Strategies for Reading and Notetaking, and Preparing for Multiple Choice or Essay-type Examinations



Don’t hesitate to reach out to the English Language Development Centre if you’re finding it hard to keep up! They have a wide array of student support programming, ranging from discussion skills workshops to developing personalized academic reading and writing skills.

Department Student Associations (DSAs) are student-run, student-led associations that aim to provide students within their departmental majors with resources such as study groups, destressor events, and much more!



The Old Exams Repository contains many past exams that can help you prepare, for free!



APPS i.e. Academic Programmers & Promoters, are part of the support available on residence.



Many students find presenting scary and nerve-wracking, and would prefer to completely avoid public speaking. The Presentation Skills Team offers workshops on a variety of topics related to Academic Communication.

Check out the Writing Centre’s Writers’ Space, a regular drop-in writing session where students give and receive help with their writing.



The Writing Centre supports student learning at any stage in the writing process, from planning an outline to polishing a final draft. We help all UTSC students: undergraduate and graduate students from every discipline. The Writing Centre not only allows for bookable appointments via Intranet, but also for drop-in sessions from 10am to noon.

The Math and Stats Learning Centre offers in-person tutoring, drop-in support, virtual tutoring, and some amazing new online modules for Calculus students.
